The Nova dental office at 1500 King has  a pleasant and friendly front desk staff. The two women at the checkin  on 11/17/22 had warm cordial professional dispositions.  Dr.Kamran Tavakkoli  is an excellent dentist and caring. Helped me identify the source of my teeth wearing down, put in onlays, and now I have a normal bite again. Received gingival therapy from Theresa, she worked quickly and sensitively. No my husband and I moved to the Alexandria this year and were in search for a dentist in town. We found nova dental partners and immediately were won over by their incredible staff. Sometimes trying a new dentist can be intimidating, but they were so welcoming to us new patients. The hygienist who cleans our teeth did an amazing job and was still gentle. Dr. Tavakkoli provided an orthodontic/Invisalign plan, but never pressured us into it. I appreciated this because some dentists can seem more like salesman, he was not like this at all. The staff here is amazing. There was a communication error and it wound up costing more than $1600 (over the original estimate). Human error happens. My wife and I were inclined to go elsewhere because it exceeded our budget, but the doctor came out, professionally owned the error, and said he’d rather honor our time. He wound up honoring the price we understood and my wife was taken care of. As a husband that made me extremely happy and proud that we chose this dentist office. Love love love this place. My first time here and my first time back at the dental office in a long time (ashamed to say). But the staff from the front desk to the people in the back working on your teeth,  FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL! I came in for a routine cleaning. They were able to squeeze me in because of a cancellation otherwise I would have had to wait a month. They were that booked. I seized the opportunity. They analyzed my teeth, I needed a filling and was able to get that done the SAME DAY. I’ve been to several dentist in my life and this by far was the beat experience. Even the music was on point. I usually do not like going to the dentist. But, when my tooth cracked it left me no choice. Upset last minute before my birthday; I was able to find an appointment within 24 hours as a new patient and receieved an abstraction. The staff and Dr. Choi was very professional, patient and courteous. They answered all of my questions and was available after my appointment, to answer any additional questions regarding my care.Safe to say, I came back to get a cleaning and also brought my spouse. The staff was friendly and professional, all the instruments and equipment was either new out of the package or deeply cleaned with disinfectant right in front of me; they gave me information about my insurance about coverages that I didn’t even know before I went. The cleaning was done by very friendly staff who paused whenever I got scared (which was often) or wanted to rinse. The only single reason I didn’t hit 5  is because other attendants kept coming in and out of the room behind me- five different times. Not great for a person with anxiety and a fear of dentists in general. But even with that, they were great. I’d definitely go back. Thank you Dr Choi and team! More

I have to say I am a chicken when it comes to dental work. I had to be put to sleep for three hours to have root planing done. The doctors and staff were wonderful. I only remember two things from this wonderful experience. Dr Wissam Ali told me, "don’t worry your in good hands" and then I woke up and he helped me and my husband to the car. This dental office is awesome.  The staff, assistants, hygienists, and Dr.'s are 100% -- hands down -- the BEST I have ever experienced!!! Cool personalities, efficient operation, on time, respectful, and so effective.  I am the quintessential high maintenance, anxious, and low pain tolerance type dental patient. I have lived in Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Seattle, Syracuse and now Old Town.  Before moving to Old Town, my experiences at the dentist were [graded on a scale of 1-10]; a 6 at best. He always takes the time to speak with you and explain everything throughly. It's very obvious that his patient's happiness and health is more important than making an extra buck. I have been coming to Nova Dental Partners for the past 5 yrs or so and have been happy with them since my first visit. I have a bunch of issues with my teeth and had seen a few dentists before with nothing but problems so that's why I needed a new dentist. Every time I come to the office as much as I hate going to the dentist they always make it pleasant. Also the dentist always takes the time to explain all my options and what the best plan of action would be. When I started coming here my job was 10 mins away but since then I don't work there anymore so the office is an hour away from home but I am willing to travel that far because I don't trust anyone else with my teeth. This is a great place to get your teeth cleaned. They are always very kind and say my name when I walk in the door. Ms. Haley is my primary Hygienist and she always makes me feel welcome. When you get Fluoride, I suggest you get the mint flavored one because it tastes the best as opposed to cherry. More

This place was pretty great. Everyone was friendly and professional, and everything was extremely clean. Not only did I get the standard goody bag of floss and such, but because I was a first time patient I also got a fancy electrical toothbrush. There were a few follow up things suggested, but nobody was pushy about getting anything done. Only complaint is that the website said there was parking (which technically there is), but there are only a few spots, so I would come early to make sure you can find parking there or elsewhere. Great dental office in Old Town Alexandria! The front desk ladies are nice and very professional! My husband and I relocated from Atlanta to DMV and had a difficult time finding a dentist due to our busy schedules, well to our surprise, this office starts taking patients st 7am!!! So, we are able to get appointments before work---WINNING! The dentist and hygienist were both profession and very informative. I did not feel pressure to get services that I really did not plan for or need! I recommend this office because they are efficient and the office hours accommodate most work schedules! More

I was became skeptical of my dentist and after the 3rd time recommending another filling I decided to try these guys out. Glad I did! This will be my new dentist. I have been looking for a dentist in the area for awhile now and I am so glad I chose this place. The staff is very welcoming, accommodating, and friendly. Schedule was super easy online and I needed an emergency root canal and they were super flexible on getting me in as soon as possible. Dr. Kamran Tavakkoli performed my root canal and I had no issues what so ever, the pain was very minimal and he made my experience comfortable. He even fixed my chipped front tooth and made it as good as new! Amazing dental officer overall. More

Nova Dental Partners is the best. I moved to the DC Area over 3 years ago and have had gone to three different dentists in the area and have not been comfortable with any of them. The most recent place I went had told me that I needed to have an extensive amount of work done and provided me with a very pricy treatment plan and I had a feeling they were just trying to make some money off of me so I didn't end up going back. A friend had recommended Nova Dental so I gave them a shot. I brought my previous treatment plan and after the Doctor looked at my teeth, he quickly determined that I didn't need the work that the previous place had suggested and told me my teeth were in great condition. I had been struggling with getting this crown redone for some time but didn't trust that a doctor would do it correctly because of my unfortunate experience the first two times. After talking with him more and other staff, I agreed to come in to have to replaced. Not only did Dr. Tavakkoli do it in a timely matter, he also took his time to make sure the color matched beautifully and helped me get the perfect retainer to close a small gap that developed while I was in between teeth :) I would HIGHLY recommend this location to anyone in need of a simple cleaning to a more complicated procedure. I've only been a patient here for about a month but I can say that this is the best dental practice that I've been to, EVER!! I found them on Google, Dr Kamran Tavakkoli was recommended as one of the best dentists in my area with really good reviews so I had high expectations going in and sure enough, they were right! The practice is in Old Town Alexandria, there's a parking garage for patients in the back and if it's full, they will pay for you to park by the roadside. The inside was clean and calming, with pleasant receptionists. My first cleaning was virtually painless, the hygienist took very good care and attention to make sure I was comfortable. A week later I had to come in for my deep cleaning and Theresa was amazing!! I was only there for about an hour each time. The staff are highly trained with great customer service and "bedside manners", I felt like I was the most important person there that day. Also, after your procedure, Dr Kamran comes in and checks you out to make sure everything went as planned. I was also given a goodie bag with a toothbrush, a toothpaste and floss on my way out. I love this place and can't wait to get my Invisalign procedure! Thanks Team! More

It sounds like a run of the mill thing, but if you're like me and your insurance provider is paperless and you forget to print a temporary card, it changes your whole day. Now I hate to admit it, I hadn't been to a dentist in awhile. I moved to the area, had issues with insurance, and had generally been putting it off for at least the last year. Nicole, my hygienist, was not judgmental at all, and just cracked some jokes with me and got to work. I cannot explain how incredibly professional and personable Nicole was, it totally changed my opinion of cleanings. Dr. Tavakkoli was wonderful and hilarious. As long as I am in the area (or a reasonable drive to any of their branches), this practice will have my business! Thank you so much! More

Dr. Tavakkoli and his team are second to none. I have been visiting them since 2012 when I moved to the area. Here are a few of the reasons I love them: - They are extremely professional and do excellent dental work - and I am very picky as my aunt is a dentist! - They are very consultative. They talk to you about what you are trying to achieve before just diving in with a one-size fits all approach - I had my Invisalign done there, and am extremely happy with the results - in 10 short weeks! - They have helped me to address my grinding and gum recession, in addition to keeping my teeth clean, white, and healthy. - Everyone on the team is so nice and friendly - they remember your name! - They send automated appt reminders via text - They are almost always on time. - They are Very responsive (via email and phone) and have early and late hours to accommodate my crazy schedule - They take most types of insurance as I have changed insurance companies three times! For the amount of work I was having done (fill-in and root canal) it took less than it took my last dentist to do just a fill in. After completing the paperwork they had me in a room and in a chair in less than 10 minutes. The dental assistant was very outgoing and has a great personality. She was very informative on what I should expect. The hygienist was great. She seemed very experienced. Then there was Dr. K Tavakkoli, hands down one the best dentist... well, in my experience the very best dentist I've ever visited. After completing the paperwork they had me in a room and in a chair in less than 10 minutes. The dental assistant was very outgoing and has a great personality. She was very informative on what I should expect. The hygienist was great. She seemed very experienced. Then there was Dr. K Tavakkoli, hands down one the best dentist... well, in my experience the very best dentist I’ve ever visited. I felt very comfortable in their care and the procedure went flawlessly in my opinion. I have to say, this has changed my experience with dentists. I feel comfortable going to the dentist. I know going there I can expect a very friendly staff with great people skills and great confidence in good dental work. Dr.Kamran Tavakkoli is an exceptionally talented, professional , confident and comforting dentist. He is great at making you feel comfortable both physically and mentally, as I was embarrassed to have a lector from a dr about how awful I take care of my Teeth. Nova Dental OT is a well oiled machine. Dr. (Kambiz) Tavakkoli is sincere, punctual, and informative. After my teeth were cleaned, there was about a five minute wait before the dr came in. During that short time, the hygienist came back in, just to "check" on me and see if I needed anything. Small gestures like this go a long way. It is in walking distance from the King Street Metro (yellow and blue lines), and there is plenty of street parking as well. It's close to the downtown Old Town area so it would be easy to check out some shops or restaurants after your appointment! The front staff is always so friendly and helpful. Paige helped me out today and she was very kind and efficient. It is also easy to schedule appointments over the phone (though they do fill up quickly so I would recommend scheduling your appointments ASAP!) This was my second time here and every time I have had a great experience. I started off with Kate, who was so sweet. She cleaned and polished my teeth and gave me some great tips on how to keep my gums and teeth healthy. She was quick yet very gentle- it was all very painless and my teeth feel so clean now! She was great at small talk and made me feel welcome and comfortable the entire time. Then, Pat helped me out and I did a Flouride rinse to help prevent cavities since I am very prone to them. They have two flavors- mint and berry. I've gone with mint each time. You just have to swish around the liquid for a minute. No rinsing afterwards. This is usually just done for kids so I did have a $39 co-pay, which is worth it if it keeps the cavities away! Finally, Dr. Tavakkoli came around for a final check up- he looked at my scans and charts and then took a look at all my teeth. He noticed two old fillings from childhood that need to be replaced so I will be back to get that done in a month. There are two dentists here and they are brothers. I have met both now and they are both very nice. I haven't had any major procedures done yet but will update my review when I do. Overall, a 5 star dentist experience! They have a spacious waiting room and even have little water bottles in a mini fridge. I barely had to wait and everything only took about half an hour. I have severe dental anxiety and the dentist did not make me feel as though I were unreasonable for this- instead he prescribed me a sedative for my appointment as well as offered me the laughing gas. I can’t say enough on all the dental offices I have been to in my life, I just absolutely love this one!! I dread going to the dentist but I have to say these 2 dentists are spectacular! The whole staff makes you feel like royalty as soon as you walk in so you feel completely relaxed during your time there, which for me was a new experience. Both of the dentists took the time and effort to discuss the issues, how they occur, what options I have, the pros and cons of each option, and does a fantastic job making it completely painless! Another great thing about their office is that they have 3 locations, My work requires me to travel within the dc area a lot so I can chose the office I want to go to that day so that its closest to me. He also consulted me for quite a bit of time after my appointment and genuinely cared about all of my concerns which was very comforting. I hadn't been to a dentist in many years and based on a friends recommendation I made an appointment for the Old Town location.  I was very nervous about my first visit because of any pain it would cause (in my mouth or in my wallet).  My dental hygienist put my worries at ease and was extremely gentle and calming.  And the visit didn't turn out as bad as I had envisioned (flossing works people).  I've seen both Drs (Kambiz & Kameron) throughout the years and they always put my mind at ease and help me work through the diagnosis with as little pain as possible.  The front desk staff there is always warm & welcoming and a joy to see.  I hope I never have to find a new dentist!! That has changed since going to Alexandria Dental Partners.  After visiting several dentists and not being completely satisfied, I decided to look for yet another dentist.  I went thru my insurance and got a call from 1.800.Dentist.  They recommended Alexandria Dental Partners and offered to make an appointment for me. I declined because I wanted to do my own research. After reading the excellent yelp reviews, I made the appointment and was not disappointed. What a great first impression!! The office is immaculate, the staff is friendly, helpful and takes whatever time is needed to not only explain your benefits but they want to make sure you understand. So far, I have had a cleaning, filling for a deep cavity and a root canal.  I cannot believe how painless everything was, even though I had not been to the dentist for a couple of years - I did not need to use any pain medication (Rx or over the counter).  Dr. Kamran and Dr. Kambiz performed the dental work and both are great and very professional - they make you feel at ease, explain what they will be doing and what to expect while they are performing the procedure as well as for the following days at home.  Everyone - front desk, dental hygienist, medical staff and doctors - are great and has made visiting the dentist a better experience for me! The two brothers at this practice, Drs. Kamran & Kambiz, are so amazing! Both them, their front desk staff, and team of hygienists are professional, respectful, friendly, and informative. New equipment and very modern facility on the third floor of the building. Making appointments is always easy and a flash. They also are good about giving you reminders for your six month check ups. Love the "goodie bags" after each check up: choice of toothbrush colors, sensodyne toothpaste, and woven fluoride floss. Gloria is my favorite hygienist. She remembers me every time too. I have had some terrible dental experiences in my life and I’ve developed a tremendous fear of the dentist as a result. I was just coming off of one of those bad experiences when I first came to this office. I was apprehensive and tense but it has been over a year now and I continue to see this office for regular check-ups and dental work. They were so calming and understanding of my concerns.  Both the dentist and the assistants offered whatever I needed to feel better and the ladies at the front desk are friendly and helpful, giving information on payment options and scheduling appointments when I need them. I had 2 porcelain crowns put on my upper front teeth soon after I started going here. I was so stressed out about the ordeal but the dentist was so reassuring and the work turned out beautifully. There were a few bumps in the process but they patiently walked me through the whole thing and I am so happy to have found a great dentist. More

I have a phobia against dentist offices and anything relating to dentistry. I have avoided dental work I've needed done for years. This morning, I needed to have a wisdom tooth extracted that was infected and giving me awful pain. From the start of the day when I called to inquire if Dr. Tavakkoli was available, I was greeted kindly by the perky woman who answered the phone. She confirmed my insurance was accepted there and even gave an idea of what I'd pay for an extraction. Upon arriving, she nicely greeted me and proceeded to give me the paperwork to complete as a new patient. This is what was stunning to me-- I was actually seen at the time I was scheduled to be seen!! I went in, got my xrays and met the dentist, Kamran Tavakkoli, who was nice enough but very informative and honest. He told me things I needed done in addition to the extraction (scaling), but didnt pressure me to commit to it. My extraction surgery was easy and quick! The only thing that hurt was getting the anathesia in the roof of my mouth. I am typing now, ten hours later and have absolutely no pain. I will be back to this dentist. Everyone in the office was kind and professional and the prices are very reasonable. More

From the minute you walk into the office, you know you’re in good hands.  The front office staff is ALWAYS extremely friendly and knowledgeable; the office manager is tops in her knowledge of the different insurance companies.  The hygenist is very pleasant and does a thorough job, as do the dental assistants.  Both dentists are exceptional in their approach to dental services; I have always received excellent care.  They are very courteous and professional and I trust them explicitly with my dental health.  I would definitely give a rating of more than 5 stars if it was available!! I had a great experience here. I cracked a tooth on Valentines day candy and they fit me in the same day I called. The office staff is very nice and they greet you with a big smile. I had no insurance and they helped me out a lot with prices. I definitely recommend them! More
