Dr. Kamran Tavakkoli from Nova Dental Partners helped me with a new device for my obstructive sleep apnea. He and his staff took several impressions of my teeth to get the right fit and he worked closely with the device manufacturer to get the measurements just right. So I initially set up an appointment at a different location and had a pretty negative experience due to some administrative issues. Never actually received any dental care there as I grew frustrated and left before I was seen. I left my review voicing my frustrations. The following morning Dr. Kamran Tavakkoli contacted me and was very apologetic. I could tell from our conversation that he was genuine and really cared about his patient experience. I came to their Old Town location and saw him personally and was not disappointed. Well I must say from walking in I was stunned by the look of the office. Very clean, tidy and great vibes in the air. I was greeted by Janelle the office manager who was very nice and friendly and gave me my np paperwork. Once completed she got me all checked in and Betty the dental assistant called me back. Very professional and very nice. He did his exam and explained everything to me in regards to possible treatment. He was very upfront about different possibilities and about how we should start my future treatment. Once we were done I was brought out by Betty who was the BEST. And Ms. Janelle did my tx plan. Ms.Simone was very pleasant and very nice throughout my check out process. Needless to say. I scheduled an appointment and I’ll be back there tomorrow. Well I must say from walking in I was stunned by the look of the office. Very clean, tidy and great vibes in the air. I was greeted by Janelle the office manager who was very nice and friendly and gave me my np paperwork. Once completed she got me all checked in and Betty the dental assistant called me back. Occasionally I have some anxiety when it's time for a checkup, but the staff is amazing in making you feel relaxed and that everything will work out. So I initially set up an appointment at a different location and had a pretty negative experience due to some administrative issues. Never actually received any dental care there as I grew frustrated and left before I was seen. I left my review voicing my frustrations. Phenomenal experience! I hadn't been to the dentist in a few years and was very anxious to go back after some traumatizing experiences with previous dentists (in Fredericksburg/Spotsylvania). I expressed my concerns/anxiety and the hygienist, Theresa (the Theresa with "Th"--there are two), was so helpful and supportive throughout the entire experience. I will not go anywhere else. Dr. Kamran helped me with the rest of the appointment and was very helpful and compassionate in discussing a couple of minor things that we needed to address. It was clear that he was completely present and interested in helping me get back on the right track. It was a very different experience than what I was used to--burnt out hygienists and doctors that have to get through your appointment so they can move on to the next one, etc. For as much anxiety as I had coming in, I felt safe and like the whole team was on my side. Phenomenal experience! I hadn't been to the dentist in a few years and was very anxious to go back after some traumatizing experiences with previous dentists (in Fredericksburg/Spotsylvania). I expressed my concerns/anxiety and the hygienist, Theresa (the Theresa with "Th"--there are two), was so helpful and supportive throughout the entire experience. I will not go anywhere else. Dr. Kamran helped me with the rest of the appointment and was very helpful and compassionate in discussing a couple of minor things that we needed to address. It was clear that he was completely present and interested in helping me get back on the right track. I have had a great experience with NovaDental Partners! I came to the practice with a number of previously existent dental issues, including an implant on one tooth and crown + root canal on another. As a patient in my 20s, I understand that I have quite a few more needs than most. However, NovaDental took care of all of my needs. When I had issues with my insurance, NovaDental went through multiple rounds of providing documents with my insurance company without making me do anything. I am terrified of the dentist (as with basically the rest of the population). I have had the absolute pleasure of being worked on by both Dr. Kamran and Dr. Kambiz. They are the perfect blend of professional and human. At one of my appointments Dr. Kambiz was working on a young boy next to me and was awesome in how he explained everything in such a way that made the child comfortable and confident enough to ask questions. I had been struggling with getting this crown redone for some time but didn't trust that a doctor would do it correctly because of my unfortunate experience the first two times. After talking with him more and other staff, I agreed to come in to have to replaced. Not only did Dr. Tavakkoli do it in a timely matter, he also took his time to make sure the color matched beautifully and helped me get the perfect retainer to close a small gap that developed while I was in between teeth :) I would HIGHLY recommend this location to anyone in need of a simple cleaning to a more complicated procedure. I've been a patient of the Drs. Tavakkoli for 17 years, starting at their Mount Vernon location and now at their Old Town office. They are wonderful dentists! I was a teenager when I began going to their practice and had a LOT of dental anxiety because of bad dental care as a child, and now all my anxiety around going to the dentist is gone! My teeth are in MUCH better shape now (3 years straight with no cavities or fillings!) and they did a great job repairing the damage from poor previous dental care. They're very respectful of patients' time, and I've never had an appointment start late. The doctors explain very clearly what your dental needs and options are, and I've never felt (unlike previous dentists) that they pushed unnecessary treatments. Their office also has very little turnover, so I've been seeing the same hygienists for years. They're great about appointment reminders (text and emails) and really good about giving advice about dental products. Their Old Town office is convenient to the Metro (two blocks from King Street) and my parents are patients at the Mount Vernon Office. They also accept most insurance and are really good about answering insurance coverage questions - no surprise charges! They're great about getting you in on short notice - I've had one emergency appointment after a crown cracked in half and they were able to fit me in a few hours after I called to fix the crown. I really like that the doctors take the time to explain what's going on with your teeth, unlike previous dentists who recommended treatments without much explanation. I feel more in control of my dental care and have way less anxiety about it now - plus my teeth are in great shape. More

Dr. Kambiz Tavakkoli completely changed my view on how dentist experiences needed to be and his hygienist, Nicole, brought me incredible confidence and assured me "its going to be alright." With trust in hand, we did crowns on my front teeth and addressed multiple issues with some molars. At no point did I feel pain, rushed, or even like I needed to worry. Dr. Kambiz Tavakkoli has since given me great dental advice and I no longer fear the dentist! For me, he resolved my dental issues. My teeth really look great! Jocelyn always welcomes me with a smile and when I leave she really makes me feel like I'm part of the group. When I was so nervous about my front teeth work, she assured me it would be ok. The staff are welcoming, and work with you to make sure that you are seen promptly, and that you are maintaining regular scheduled visits. They are also very knowledgeable regarding insurance plans and the coverage that they provide. When I was first seen by Dr. Tavakkoli he identified issues that had gone unnoticed from my previous provider, and that if left unchecked could have had serious repercussions. The issue was addressed and resolved quickly. I am very grateful for their attention to detail and care, and I highly recommend this practice. More

I have had a great experience with NovaDental Partners! I came to the practice with a number of previously existent dental issues, including an implant on one tooth and crown + root canal on another. As a patient in my 20s, I understand that I have quite a few more needs than most. However, NovaDental took care of all of my needs. When I had issues with my insurance, NovaDental went through multiple rounds of providing documents with my insurance company without making me do anything. They also are extremely easy in terms of scheduling etc. In addition to providing great patient service administratively, they have also been wonderful with patient care. Dr. Kamran Tavakkoli replaced both of my crowns and made them better looking than ever before. He also has relationships with great shade labs for crowns, and a periodontist for anyone with gum issues. I expressed my concerns/anxiety and the hygienist, Theresa (the Theresa with "Th"--there are two), was so helpful and supportive throughout the entire experience. I will not go anywhere else. Dr. Kamran helped me with the rest of the appointment and was very helpful and compassionate in discussing a couple of minor things that we needed to address. It was clear that he was completely present and interested in helping me get back on the right track. It was a very different experience than what I was used to--burnt out hygienists and doctors that have to get through your appointment so they can move on to the next one, etc. For as much anxiety as I had coming in, I felt safe and like the whole team was on my side. The King street location has a beautiful office as well--clean, comfortable, warm, and welcoming--I felt right at home :) More

I've been a patient Dr. Kamran Tavakkoli for almost a year now. I had a unique problem where my teeth didn't line up properly causing jaw pain. He was the 3rd dentist I've seen for this issue and the others were unsuccessful and didn't spend the time to understand what was causing my jaw pain and walk me through the potential solutions. He was very detailed and when he said he wanted to review my file before making a recommendation and he'd call me 2 days later, he called to follow up 2 days later exactly as promised. The staff is great, very kind and the office itself is clean and modern. They do a good job of scheduling appointments so there is a very short wait too. I 100% recommend Dr. Kamran Tavakkoli. More

I've been seeing Dr. Kamrin Tavakkoli for about a year and a half now. I had tried 2 other dental practices when I moved to the area a couple of years ago and wasn't sold on them, so I ended up at NOVA Dental Partners. The office staff is competent and friendly. The hygienists are very nice and do a great job with cleanings. Both doctors are efficient and patient with me as a 'chicken' patient.
